WHILE OUR STAFF IS GIVEN THE SAME CODE OF CONDUCT AS CAMPERS, THE FOLLOWING ARE SPECIFIC TO THEM:

  • No youth is to be taken off by themselves
  • Do not give individual gifts of a personal nature to youth
  • Do not show favoritism to a particular youth
  • (One-on-one) counseling or private conversation is to be done in a public setting.
    • Seen but not necessarily heard.
  • Hold other staff accountable

ALL staff must attend mandatory staff meetings prior to camp.

NOTE:

Northside Bible Camp is only 5-6 days long. Please refrain from taking campers away from camp during this short stay. If possible, please do not schedule appointments for the doctor or dentist or make other family plans during the week. We understand that many campers play softball and baseball during the summer and may have practice or games during this week. We ask that you try and make arrangements for them to stay at camp.

If a camper must leave before scheduled time, advance notice, before camp begins, must be given to the camp director, Charlie Manning.

CAMPER EXPECTATIONS:

*Campers are expected to respect and follow the directions of the counselors, activity directors, kitchen staff, and camp directors.

*Campers are expected to respect each other and the property or others. NO HAZING!

*Campers will not be allowed to write on camp property.

*Campers are expected to keep their WATER BOTTLES full and drink often throughout the day.

*All campers will be strongly discouraged from leaving during camp as this takes away from the Bible camp experience. Campers driving themselves to camp will not be allowed to leave camp until after the closing ceremonies Friday night or unless it was cleared with Wes Ader and a parent.

*NO VISITORS DURING CAMP until Friday night at 6:00 p.m. If you want to be at camp, register and be there for the week. Having visitors at camp is a distraction and takes away from the Bible camp experience.

- No walking about cabin without covering private areas (not even youth of same sex)

ALWAYS USE APPROPRIATE VERBAL COMMUNICATION:

- No gossiping about other youth or staff

- No calling names of any kind (even jokingly)

- No talking about another’s physical body

- No profane language or use of slang terms (homo, fag, etc.)

- No discussions of a sexual nature

MINOR’S RIGHTS:

- To be taken seriously

Do Not Bring

  • No tobacco on the campgrounds.
  • No pets allowed.
  • No fireworks or weapons
  • Do not bring video game players, mp3/ipods/music players, or any other electronics.
    • There will be no time for your camper to use them, and they will be a distraction.
  • NO CELL PHONES. Campers will not need them during the week.
    • Any cell phones brought to camp will be taken up by the camp staff at the beginning of the week and locked up for safe keeping.
    • Cell phones are a distraction and continue to be a problem at camp. You purpose in sending your camper is so they can retreat from the world and connect to God.
    • The camp directors will keep cell phone for emergency purposes. If you need to contact your camper, we will be able to get them for you. Charlie Manning’s Cell phone #: 501-607-4075
    • If your camper has an emergency, they will be able to call you.
    • If your child cannot survive the week at camp without their personal cell phone, camp may not be for them.

SNACKS

We strongly discourage you from bringing snacks or sodas as it encourages ants in the cabin. Those who have snacks in the cabin tend to fill up on snacks and then are too full to eat at meal times. Campers will be fed 3 meals a day, an afternoon snack, afternoon popsicles & snack, and a snack in the evening between supper and bedtime.

MAIL

If you would like your child to receive mail during the week, you can drop your mail off with the camp director at check-in labeled by what day you would like them to receive it. Because of our tight schedule, we will not be doing mail call like in the tradition of the past. Your child will be handed their mail at Breakfast every morning.

The following camp DRESS CODE applies to campers and staff.

• Clothes must be modest.

• Tank tops must have a wide strap (no spaghetti straps), must cover the back/shoulder blades (no racerback), and shouldn't have over-sized arm holes.

All shorts must be at least mid-thigh length.

This responsibility first belongs to the parents to check what is being packed at home and then the camper’s personal cabin counselor to say something if needed to the camper in a discreet and respectful way.
